Research Talent Dashboard Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Research Talent Dashboard is a Chrome extension built by Alex Shabanov to help users review public research signals for AI and machine learning research candidates.

Information the extension processes

The extension processes only the information that you intentionally provide or trigger, such as a highlighted candidate name, a manually entered candidate name, a research area, or an optional location or institution filter.

How information is used

Candidate names and research-area searches are used to retrieve public research metadata from sources such as OpenAlex and Semantic Scholar. The extension also creates user-clicked links to external services such as LinkedIn people search, Google Scholar, Google Patents, OpenReview, arXiv, DBLP, ACL Anthology, GitHub, and Hugging Face.

Data collection and storage

The extension does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal data with the developer. It does not operate a backend server and does not transmit user data to any server controlled by the developer.

The extension may temporarily store the last area-search results in the browser's session storage so users can move between Area Search and Candidate Lookup without rerunning the same search. This data remains local to the browser session and is not sent to the developer.

Third-party services

When you run searches or click external links, your browser may send search terms, candidate names, or page requests to the relevant third-party services. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Page access

The extension uses Chrome permissions to read highlighted text from the active tab only when you click the extension and choose to use highlighted text. It does not read pages continuously, scrape private pages, submit forms, automate outreach, or modify third-party websites.
